Lineolated Parakeets

Green series (green, dark green and olive),
       blue series (turquoise, cobalt and mauve),and
       inos (creamino and lutino)

The Lineolated Parakeets is another small, friendly, and quiet little bird that is packed with a parrot personality. This little fellow is not destructive like some small species can be, and a hand fed baby can be a fabulous pet! They would be perfect for someone that doesn't have the space or energy for a large bird.

They grow to be about 6 inches long and reach maturity around six to eight months of age. They aren't big on flying - instead they like to climb around and hang upside down.

In the wild they can be found in South and Central America. Their call is a chattering sound and in flocks can sound quite amazing. They eat berries, fruit and blossoms.

Since they are a little more docile and very friendly, they would be great as a first pet, an elderly person's companion, a pet for an older child, or just about anyone wanting a gentle pet. { Caution and supervision should always take place when getting a bird for a child.} Unfortunately the Lineolated Parakeets has been overlooked.
